Beginnings Suck

I’ve always said the two hardest tasks in writing a novel are starting and finishing. This fantasy novel is no different. I know exactly what I want to do for the entire novel. Yes, there may be some slight changes here and there, but otherwise, the plot is nailed down. I even have all the characters down pat. Not just the main characters either. I’m talking about every character in the novel, major and minor. Necessary? Hell no! At this point, I’m just procrastinating.

You know what? I’m just going to write something. Will it be something good? Probably not. I just need to move forward. I can go back and edit, right? Pshhhh yeah, of course. Okay….any second…I’m going to write something…any second. God dammit. The procrastination is pretty bad.
